Color Story: Copper's Moment to Shine

As decorative metals go, hammered bronze is my favorite. It's darker, earthier and mixes well with browns. Brighter metals like gold and silver are less to my taste. But copper is having a nice moment lately. It's turning up on items that are usually dominated by gold and silver. And it's really striking...

As a lighting option, copper feels particularly warming. And you have to wonder what the sparkle effect is when sunlight hits the links on chandeliers like these new ones at RH Teen:

Smaller accents also make a big impact on focal objects like tables and occasional furniture. Imagine flatware that's a little more special than stainless steel - but not too regal - or classic seating in an unconventional tone:

And don't forget that accent furniture, spicing up the livingroom. Now that everyone is exploring color and pattern, might as well complete the theme on the metallics front.

Personally, I'm keeping my eye out for something small, probably one of those shiny little figs.
