Retail Odyssey: Rustic Modern at Target

the new asmara furniture collection from mudhut @
One of's featured home dec brands, Mudhut, is now offering furniture in a clean, earthy style. The Asmara line looks warm and sturdy being made of four woods and metal hardware. The collection is on the affordable side with nothing priced higher than $179.99. I love the long, slim legs on the tables. Plenty of room to store other things underneath them, especially that console. These are pretty versatile. The product line is Indian/South Asian style, so it will coordinate well with various global styles, whether colorful or monochrome.

For someone in need of high impact items in a small space, the coffee table and tv stand would be perfect options. And the bookcase could easily be customized by adding patterned paper or fabric to the back panels.

tv stand: plenty of surface area and a little component space
coffee table: sturdy and high enough for underneath storage
Asmara also offers furniture for dining and the bedroom.  The dining table has a butcher block feel to it. The chairs would make pretty statements lined up against a wall.

looks heavy all together, some cushions ought to warm it up
And imagine putting a nice textural light fixture above this. The linen tube gives a warm diffused light, while the punched metal or wire casing adds pattern and interest even when the light is off.

Mudhut also has an interesting assortment of Indian inspired decor collections. Bedding, bath and table linens in fantastic colorful patterns, as well as decorative items liked turned wood lamps. And a great set of melamine dinnerware in bright Ikat to top it off.
